Commensalism
Sea Otter & Kelp
The sea otter and kelp have a commensalistic relationship. The sea otter uses the kelp as an anchor while they sleep. The sea otters wrap themselves in the kelp so they do not float around while they sleep. The kelp is not affected by this making it an example on commensalism.

Mutualism
Sea Otter & Kelp
The sea otter and kelp also have a mutualistic relationship. The sea otter eats sea urchins which if there is a large population makes the kelp endangered. Once the kelp dies it floats up and provides the sea otter with a source of food. Since both organisms are benefitting this is an example of mutualism.

parasitism
Sea Otter & Acanthocephalan Peritonitis
The sea otter and acanthocephalan peritonitis have a parasitic relationship. The tiny worm like parasites enters the sea otter's body through the food it eats. the parasite then implants itself into the sea otter's intestines and eats them resulting in illness and possibly death. This is an example of parasitism because the parasite is getting its food and the sea otter is getting harmed.
